My Story

Welcome to Beaufort & Salisbury.

The name of my business is deeply personal. It is a tribute to my parents and the values they passed on to my siblings and I.

Named in honor of my parents' hometowns—Beaufort, South Carolina, and Salisbury, North Carolina—and inspired by the values of compassion, service, and hard work they instilled in me.

Those values are the foundation of everything I do and the heart behind the care I provide to every family I serve.

My father was from Beaufort, South Carolina. He was an entrepreneur, a devoted father, and a mentor to many. He believed in hard work, perseverance, and encouraging others to become their best. His determination, self-motivation, and commitment to serving those around him continue to inspire the way I approach my business every day.

My mother was from Salisbury, North Carolina, and dedicated 35 years to educating children in the New York City Public Schools. Although she always dreamed of becoming a nurse, her desire to care for others was evident throughout her life. After retiring, she continued serving her community through ten years of volunteer work before receiving her dementia diagnosis. She taught me that true service comes from compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference.

When it came time to help my mother transition into senior living, I experienced firsthand how overwhelming the process could be. I wanted her apartment to feel warm, familiar, and welcoming from the moment she arrived. Unpacking her belongings, making her bed, arranging family photos, and organizing her favorite things, created a space that reflected the comfort of home.

Through that experience, I realized something important: many families are focused on the logistics of a move—the paperwork, decisions, appointments, and emotions—and often don't realize how much the final step of preparing the apartment can impact their loved one's transition.

That is where Beaufort & Salisbury was born.

I help families prepare senior living apartments before move-in day by thoughtfully unpacking, organizing, and arranging each space so it feels like home from the very beginning. My goal is to remove one more burden from families and allow them to spend move-in day focused on what matters most—being together.

Since my mother's passing in 2025, this work has taken on an even deeper meaning. Every apartment I prepare is a reflection of the care I wanted for her and a continuation of the values both of my parents lived by.

Thank you for considering Beaufort & Salisbury. It is an honor to support families during one of life's most meaningful transitions and help create a place where their loved one can feel comfortable, welcomed, and at home from day one.
